I am so much going to install Linux on a machine, boot up cedega and then post a screeny of WoW...

If only to taunt Drakfot a bit ;-)

Already tested WoW on this machine, a friend of mine did. This machine had higher FPS and faster loading times then his machine, which has better specs .. Other then that, I'm not touching that game =P

About Guild Wars , I don't play it much anymore but when I had the problems with the text I got quite better result by disabling Freetype and Xrender. This makes the mousepointer look a tad ugly, but the problem with text should be gone, might be some small misplacements when puchasing skills though.

Current settings :
Use Xvid
Managed
Mozilla Control
Scheduler : Default
Use Pthreads : Default
Desktop : 1024x768 ( one notch lower then native resolution on my TFT )

Audio :
Alsa
Full Duplex
Use MMap

Graphics :
Video Ram : 128
AGP Vertex Data : 64
Pixel Shader : 1.3
Vertex Shaders
NV_VAR Extension
ARB_VBO Extension

Fixed Program : Auto
Fragment Offset : Auto
Non Power of Two Textures : Auto
Clip Space FX
Anisotropic Filtering.

( The items that are mentioned here are checked ones, if they is not listed here they are unchecked in the Configuration Profile )
Hope this helps a bit, if not then just ask :)

Thanks a lot for your answer. The problem persist... I've tried with 7676 driver and 8178 (the last one). With 8178 I've the problem I've said, with 7676 the whole screen is blurred not only the text. :(

ps I've a Nvidia 6200TC 256M card

Hmm, I use the 8178 drivers, patched for the AGP issue. ( read more here. )

I have an GF6600GT 128MB RAM from XFX.

What settings do yo have in the profile for the game ?

Actually the patch addresses an issue where the driver does not recognize more then 24MB RAM available for the gfxcard ( only affects AGP cards, PCI-E works ) so it has no actual affect on the game itself, more on a performance stance as it will have less RAM to work with if unpatched.

About it not working, I am running v 5.1 of Cedega.
The things I can thing of to experiment is under the Graphics tab, perhaps Pixel Shader and the above mentioned Vertex Shader.
But as I mentioned the Xrander/Freetype was what seemed to solve my issue. Still strange that it will not work for you. Have in mind though that we have graphics card with different chipsets ( or rather different version of the same chipset. ).
Have you tried and experiment with the settings a bit ? And have you noticed any changes during the latest patches of the game ? ( I havent played for a while so when I logged in today there was quite a hefty update )

Yes I've tried *all* combination of settings but nothing appened.
When i disable freetype I see the pointer with few colors but no more changes.

However... thanks so much.

No problems. Quite strange that nothing seems to have any effect. What I can think of is trying older versions of Cedega too.
When I have time I will fidlde around with it and see what I can come up with. I'll post my ideas and findings here so keep an eye open on this thread. ( Sadly I cannot say exactly when I have time, but will try as soon as I can :) )
